Approval and Licensing
A successful business setup in Dubai requires approvals from key authorities. UK entrepreneurs or companies looking to conduct business in Dubai Mainland, outside the emirate’s free zones, must submit their license request directly to the Department of Economic Development (DED). While there are numerous free zones in the UAE, particularly in Dubai, which offer benefits like full ownership for foreign investors, mainland businesses provide greater flexibility for operating across the UAE. Unlike free zones, mainland setups don’t require a local agent and are governed by UAE law, eliminating the need for UAE national participation in ownership.
