Getting a Business License in Dubai Healthcare City

Types of Licenses Structures

There are 3 types of legal structures namely

1. Free zone Limited Liability Company (FZ- LLC)
2. Branch of a Foreign Company
3. Branch of a UAE Company

Based on the legal structure types of license the cluster can be chosen and the 2 clusters that are provided by Dubai Healthcare City is clinical and non-clinical.

Clusters/ Activity Group under Clinical and Non Clinical

It is very important that one needs to choose the right type of activity to obtain a license. As one is allowed to perform operations only for those activities that are mentioned in the license.

DHCC is not only restricted to Clinics but also has various other activities that fall under the non-clinical cluster.

The Clinical cluster has the below list of segments

1. Clinical Inpatient (Hospitals)
2. Clinical Outpatients
3. Diagnostic centers and Medical Laboratories
4. Non Diagnostic Medical Laboratories
5. Patient Escort Services
6. Pharmacy

The Non Clinical Cluster has the below mentioned Segments and many more:

1. Child Skill Development training
2. Consultancy
3. Early Learning center
4. Food and Beverage
5. Educational Support Services
6. Personal care center
7. Hotel Services
8. Event management

Based on the above segments we can perform all the approved activities that are available in DHCC.
For e.g., under the Segment of Consultancy we can choose to do activities like Interior Design Consultancy , Management Consultancy, IT Consultancy and a lot more.

Under the segment of Food and Beverages we can perform activities like Bakery, Cafeteria, Floating Restaurant, Coffee Shop etc.

There are many more interesting activities that are described under the non-clinical segment.

Type of Leasing Space

DHCC facilitates Commercial office space, Business Centers and also Retail spaces. Depending on the requirement for the no. of visas the leasing space is provided. The minimum Square feet for one visa is 10 sq feet.

Share capital Requirement

1. For a Clinical Segment the minimum share capital required will be around AED 1,000,000
2. For Non Clinical Segment the minimum share capital required will be AED 50,000
3. For a Branch there is no requirement of Share Capital

Cost for obtaining the License in DHCC depending on the segments chosen for Clinical and Non Clinical and the type of office requirements the charges vary.

• Initial Approval Fees is AED 3100
• Registration Fees AED 3500
• Commercial License Fees for Clinical will be Approx. AED 25000 and for Non-Clinical it will be Approx. AED 15000

Documents required for setting up the License

• Passport copy of all shareholders
• Visa status
• Business Plan mandatory

If in case of clinical segments, the educational certificates in related facilities , experience certificates and CV will be required.
