Tajer Abu Dhabi License: Everything You Want To Know About It

In the year 2017, the local UAE nationals were allowed to obtain a license without having a physical office or the need to rent one with the introduction of Tajer license in Abu Dhabi.
The Tajer License in Abu Dhabi allowed the Emiratis to do 100 various business activities and with this several investors started acquiring this license in order to start their business legally. This license was launched to reduce the cost of establishing a company and also to welcome the small businesses and freelancers in great numbers.
The process to obtain this license was just to apply for the applications online and submit the same and wait for the issuance of the license to start the business.
Latest news as per Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) reveals that the Tajer Abu Dhabi license package is now also open to all the GCC Nationals and the Expats. However in the expats acquiring this license they will need to mandatorily appoint an UAE National as the 51% shareholder in the case of LLC or as a Local Service Agent in the case of Sole/ Branch setup.
Tajer also known as Traders License will not require an AOA/MOA or lease contract as its been issued electronically. The Legal structure acceptable is as below:
- One person company for GCC and UAE Nationals
- LLC Company for UAE Residents along with UAE National as shareholder
- A Branch or sole establishment having an expat will still need a UAE National as agent
The overall fees that are involved in obtaining this license is very less compared to the normal licensing process and will vary depending on the business activities.
