Dubai tourism is back on track as the first 11 months of 2021 record 6 million visits!

admin

Dubai is a traveler’s paradise with the vibrant city offering its fair share of luxury, adventure, and pleasure. Although the tourism industry faced unexpected waning during the COVID 19 pandemic, Dubai tourism is back on its tracks now, recording over 6 million visitors from January to November in 2021.

The remarkable recovery is a result of the government’s strategic thinking that enabled the city to restrict the COVID 19 pandemic and thus open the borders for visitors. Issam Kazim, the CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM) in this regard applauded the authorities for implementing world-standard care and hygiene in all key tourist hotspots including the EXPO 2020, and thus making travel safe and secure for tourists worldwide. While speaking at the second edition of the Dubai Accessible Tourism International Summit, he revealed that over 9 million room nights were sold between January and October of 2021 for domestic tourism alone while altogether a reported 28.19 million occupied room nights were recorded by the end of December.

EXPO 2020 and related events are undoubtedly the driving factors especially amidst the uncertainties that COVID 19 posed. However, effective vaccination drive, reformed Visa regulations, and travel protocols contributed to the booming industry of travel and tourism. Dubai was recently recognized as one of the safest travel destinations in the world owing to the remarkable way it was equipped with tackling challenges.

While the rest of the world was reeling from the global pandemic, Dubai was the first to open its borders for trade and commerce, all the while keeping its citizens and travelers safe and secure. As a result, Dubai’s vibrant economy showed remarkable progress with the non-oil private sector of the city showing record growth. Moreover, Dubai’s 2040 plan is a beacon of the city’s vision and progress as everyone is optimistic about future endeavors. As noted by the DCTCM chief, Dubai is continuously striving to become one of the most preferred destinations for tourists around the world.

“The government is working towards achieving the goal by implementing relevant legislation and adopting smart solutions to provide the best services for this segment of tourists,” he added.
