Steps to Start a Poultry Business in UAE
There are few steps to be followed to start this business in UAE and also a few criteria. Let us have a look in the process of poultry farming to run the business:
The Plot Selection
One of the most important aspects of poultry business is the plot or the locality selection. One needs to keep in mind that there are many measurements before selecting a plot for the farming. The farm can be in urban residential zone, public area, near public road with significant and minor use. You can hire an experienced person who can help you to understand mapping of the plot using the topographical map. After locating the plot, an approval is required from the municipality’s Environment Department to approve the area for poultry farming.
Trade Name Approval and Initial Approval from Department of Economic Development
Once the plot is approved then the trade name for the business is required to be approved from the same jurisdiction and also the activity for “Farming of Poultry”.
Inspection from Municipality
After the name and initial approval is done and the plot is ready for farming, the municipality should be informed and there will be an inspection from the municipality measuring all the necessities according to Environment Department to allow the farm to start the production.
Final Step to Get the License
Once the approval is received from the municipality, you can visit the DED and can get the license by paying the payment voucher.
The Cost and Charges
For municipality approval there is no extra cost required. The only cost required will be the normal license cost which is equivalent to a professional license.
Like any professional license the owner can be an expat with 100% ownership and the UAE national will remain as a Local Service agent
It is required to appoint a veterinary doctor as per the law for the poultry farm, one who has passed the exam from the Health Authority before practicing in the UAE.
